TB Samli hospital to have emergency centre

PTI lawmaker says Rs150 million has been released for the project

RAWALPINDI:

The Samli Sanatorium tuberculosis (TB) hospital at Murree has been given the status of a regular general hospital where a Mother and Child Centre along with an emergency will also be set up.

Earlier, the hospital was only specialised in TB treatment and 70 percent of the area was empty. In addition, there were few patients.

Now it has been given the status of the general hospital while TB hospital will also remain operational. The hospital will consist of 150 beds.

Punjab Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President and Member National Assembly (MNA) Sadaqat Ali Abbasi told The Express Tribune that the hospital project has started. A total of Rs150 million has been released for the project.

The MNA said that there will be six gynaecology operating theatres in the hospital, where many maternal and child diseases will be treated free. The regular implementation for emergency patents will also begin soon, he said, adding that because of this, instead of taking all the accident injured to Rawalpindi or Islamabad, they will be provided with faster treatment at Murree General Hospital.

Abbasi said that with the upgradation of the hospital, the patient load on Rawalpindi and Islamabad hospitals will also be reduced.

Meanwhile, highly trained doctors, doctors, paramedics’ staff is also being deployed at the facility.
