PDWP approves seven development schemes
Punjab Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) on Friday approved seven development schemes of various sectors with an estimated cost of Rs.21.5 billion.
These schemes were approved in the 8th PDWP meeting of current fiscal year 2021-22 presided over by Planning & Development (P&D) Board Chairperson Abdullah Khan Sumbal.
The approved development schemes included Insaf afternoon schools programme at a cost of Rs6.5 billion, the establishment of 100 bedded hospital in UC Lakhwanwal tehsil and Gujrat district at the cost of Rs1.4 billion, the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases like diabetes, hypertension, cancers (Revised) at the cost of Rs1.91 billion and the enhanced Punjab HIV/AIDS control programme (3 Years) (Phase-II) (Revised) at a cost of Rs2.4 billion.

Moreover, the projects also included the development of online statistical system in Punjab at the cost of Rs496.1 million and the construction of gated head regulator from RD.205+000 to 283+000/L of BRBD Link Canal, while the dualisation of road from GT road (Samma) to Gujrat - Dinga Road i/c Gujrat Flyover of length 31 km in Gujrat (Revised) at the cost of Rs 8.3 billion had been cleared and recommended to the federal government for CDWP. P&D Provincial Secretary Mujahid Sherdil, members of the Planning & Development Board, provincial secretaries of departments concerned and other senior representatives of provincial departments concerned also attended the meeting.
