Police claimed to have arrested an alleged robber in injured condition after a shootout in Sohrab Goth in the early hours of Friday.
According to police officials, a mobile squad saw two robbers looting people near Seven Star Society Gana Mandi in Sohrab Goth.
On seeing the police mobile, the suspects opened fire and tried to flee. However, one of the suspects was injured in the exchange of pursuit and retaliatory firing by the police, while his accomplice managed to escape from the scene.
Police rushed the injured suspect, Khan Wali, to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical treatment.

Police said that two motorcycles and weapons were recovered from the place where the encounter took place. Police have registers a case and started investigations to arrest the other suspect.
Separately, a suspect, later identified as Abid Baloch was caught from Singho Lane in Lyari on allegations of carrying illegal weapons.
