Police say the couple had tied the knot barely a month ago

A newly married couple was found dead at their home in the Phalina area within the remits of the Kallar Syedan police station.

The couple, who was identified as Ahmed and Sehrish, had tied the knot barely a month ago, a police spokesperson said on Tuesday.

Family members found the couple dead in their room in the morning and called the police. Upon their arrival, the bodies were found lying on the floor.

According to the police, the woman had bruises on her neck and said that she had apparently been strangled to death. The man also had wounds on the body which was covered in a sheet.
