VEHARI:

Two persons from a family were crushed to death after their motorcycle collided with a pick up and an oil tanker ran them over in the suburbs of Tibba Sultanpur near an oil mill at Multan road on Tuesday.

The youth identified as 18-year-old Munir, the son of Abdul Latif, and his maternal uncle 35-year-old Amir, the son of Noor Ahmad, were travelling to Multan by motorcycle.

They overtook an oil tanker but in doing so their motorcycle collided with a pickup, causing them to fall off the two-wheeler. During the road crash, the oil tanker approaching from behind ran over the victims. The road accident caused their death on the spot.

Rescue 1122 ambulances from Tibba Sultanpur and Garha More rushed to the spot but found them breathless upon reaching the site.

Accidents involving victims who were crushed to death are not uncommon in Punjab.

On September 7, two women and a man were crushed to death by trains while crossing railway tracks in Kala Shah Kaku and Renala Khurd.

In Renala Khurd, two women, Nooran Bibi and Waziran Bibi, were hit by a train going from Lahore to Karachi.
