Patriotic poetry session held to mark Independence Day

Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi hosts an Azadi Mushaira 2021

KARACHI:

The Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi hosted an Azadi Mushaira 2021 at John Elia Lawn to mark the 74th Independence Day with rendition of patriotic poetry from the eminent poets of Pakistan, a press release said on Friday.

The Azadi Mushaira was chaired by Dr Khursheed Rizvi from Lahore via online video link whereas Dr Peerzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui was the chief guest of the evening. Mushaira was conducted by the chairperson of the literary committee of the Arts Council, Dr Ambreen Haseeb Amber.

Prominent among the poets who joined online were Amjad Islam Amjad from Lahore, Abbas Tabish from Lahore, Yasmeen Hameed from Lahore, Izhar-ul-Haq from Islamabad, Sarwar Jawed from Quetta, Ashfaq Hussain from Canada, and Shahida Hassan from Canada.

Present on the occasion were Anwer Shour, Humaira Rehman, Tariq Sabzwari, Rehana Rohi, Akhter Usman, Khalid Moin, Ajmal Siraj, Rukhsana, Shakeel Jazib, Ayesha Naz, and Alauddin Khanzada.
