SHC takes notice of Dodo Bheel’s murder
The Sindh High Court Chief Justice Ahmed Ali M Sheikh on Monday took notice on newspaper report about the murder of Dodo Bheel by a security guard of a mining company in Tharparkar district.
The top judge of Sindh has directed the district judge of Tharparkar to send a report on the incident. Moreover, Sindh CJ has summoned DIG Mirpurkhas and SSP Tharparkar in person on July 13.
The victim was tortured to death over a verbal spat. Members of the Hindu community have staged a protest for the arrest of people responsible for Bheel’s death.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has asked Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah to conduct an inquiry into the incident and hold accountable the people responsible for the murder.

Separately, in Islamabad, Federal Minister for Human Rights Dr Shireen Mazari directed the Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Human Rights MNA Lal Malhi to set up an impartial fact-finding mission to find out the details of the incident, which would also include journalists and the civil society representatives.
The delegation led by MNA Lal Malhi will visit the area on July 9 to find out the facts of the incident. After offering condolences to the heirs of Dodo Bheel, the delegation will meet local journalists, Thar Coal Block 2 administration, police officials, and others.
