Medical Treatment: Mehdi Hassan to visit India for treatment

KARACHI: The legendary ghazal maestro, Mehdi Hassan, will visit India for medical treatment. His son Arif Mehdi said that artists in India are also very concerned about the health of his father. They had already asked to take him to India for treatment many times but it has not been possible. “He is feeling better now and we are planning to take him to India after Eid,” said Arif Mehdi. He said that singers and artists in India are desperately waiting for the arrival of Shahenshah-e-Ghazal. The visa application of Mehdi Hassan has already been forwarded to the authorities and as soon legal as formalities are complete they will leave for India. Hasan is best known for his rendition of Faiz Ahmed Faiz’s poetry.
