Jahangir Khan nominates Humayun Saeed to play him in his biopic

When asked who would do justice to his role from leading actors of Pakistan, Jahangir named Humayun.

Former world Squash champion, often regarded as the greatest squash player of all time, Jahangir Khan has said that if a film is to be made on his life, Humayun Saeed should play the leading role.

During a recent appearance on a local talk show, host Shahzad Iqbal asked Jahangir about his favourite actor. In response, the sportsman said he doesn’t watch many films but he likes Abid Ali, Nasir Sahab and Jamshed Ansari from the Pakistani television serials he has seen. He also named Shehnaz Sheikh as one of his favourite female actors in Pakistan.

Following this, Iqbal asked Khan if his biopic was ever to be made, who would he want to play the leading role from amongst Fahad Mustafa, Fawad Khan, Humayun Saeed and Sheheryar Munawwar. Khan nominated Saeed.

Speaking on the importance of biopics, Khan elaborated, “It [biopics] are very important for inspiration and I think they are very important for our children. We have many sports legends so I think biopics should even be made for their learning.”

Asked about his plans to write an autobiography, the sports star shared that the thought had never crossed his mind but now he thinks he should.

On November 28, 1981, Khan became world’s youngest world squash champion. He won the World Open six times and the British Open 10 times. He retired as a player in 1993 and has served as President of the World Squash Federation from 2002 to 2008. Later in 2008, he became Emeritus President of the World Squash Federation.

He currently lives in Karachi with his wife Rubina and their two children.
