RAWALPINDI:

Healthcare facilities are becoming more and more important, irrespective of how large or small the facility is, amid the Covid 19 pandemic. To this end, the government has approved the construction of a mini-hospital in the densely populated union council of Rehmatabad in the Rawalpindi Division.

The healthcare facility will cost Rs50 million and be built in the old dispensary of Rehmatabad which has become dilapidated.

The mini-hospital will have an outpatient department (OPD) and an emergency ward along with a mini operation theatre.

The population of the area has reached around 300,000 but there is no public hospital for the public.

Federal parliamentary secretary Sheikh Rashid Shafique told The Express Tribune that the mini facility will have 19 beds instead of two that were in the dispensary.

The lawmaker would release the funds for the mini hospital in Rehmatabad.

Officials said that the construction of the mini hospital will start next month while it would be completed within a year.
