People don’t call me 'serial kisser' anymore: Emraan Hashmi

Actor feels he has cleansed himself of the title

Emraan Hashmi, whose film Mumbai Saga is currently running at the box office, has many other projects in the pipeline.

The actor has three very different films on the way, according to a report by IANS, and is currently committed to Chehre and Ezra. The actor is yet to confirm playing the villain in Tiger 3.

But aside from other accomplishments, Hashmi is glad he has finally gotten rid of the "Serial Kisser" tag. "I haven't done those films for a bit. People don't address me that way anymore. I have never really thought of how they think of me," he was quoted as saying.

"It's up to people to think how they want to think. I can't catch people by the throat and force them to look at me in a certain way. I just do my job as an actor and I don't think about the perception as such.”

But Hashmi is also happy his film Mumbai Saga made it to the cinemas in these trying times. "There was a bit of nervousness and excitement as it's our baby which has been ready for a while. We couldn't release it last year. But better late than never.”

He claimed films like Mumbai Saga need a theatrical release. "This film was always meant for that,; people will enjoy it most there," he said.

However, when it comes to predicting how his films will fare at the box office, Hashmi said he has no idea. "You have nurtured this baby and you want to know if the world will accept or reject it. But at the same time, you don't know what a Friday brings.”

The Jannat star added, "I am concentrating on these films at the moment. I am gearing up for release of my upcoming films and then I will move to newer projects."

Hashmi’s Chehre is slated to release next. The film is a psychological drama co-starring Amitabh Bachchan and Rhea Chakraboty. Ezra, on the other hand, is a horror story.
