HYDERABAD:

An alumnus of the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET) was killed and another was injured in separate accidents on the M9 Motorway on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, the MUET expressed dismay over the National Highway Authority's delays over the construction of a flyover or bypass to stop the movement of heavy traffic outside the three universities in Jamshoro.

The reaction came from the varsity's vice chancellor and other top officials a day after a recent graduate was killed in a road accident and another was injured.

The traffic heading from M9 Motorway to the Indus Highway passes through the stretch of the road on which MUET, Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) and the University of Sindh are located.

On Tuesday, 22-year-old Saalim Chandio's motorcycle was hit by a dumper truck. Chandio was killed in the accident while another MUET alumnus, Azhar Rajput, was injured in a similar accident with a truck trawler.
