A speeding water tanker hit a motorcycle in the Nazimabad area, killing two persons and injuring another. Enraged passersby set the tanker ablaze.
Two men and a minor girl were on the motorcycle when the tanker collided with them. They were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where one of the men and the minor girl succumbed to their injuries.
The deceased were identified as Azmat, 40, and his daughter, Sidra, 10, while the injured was identified as his brother, Abdul Wahid, 35.
The errant driver fled from the scene immediately after the accident. An enraged mob of people who witnessed the accident set the water tanker on fire.
According to the police, who sought the fire department’s assistance to douse the blaze, raids are being carried out to arrest the tanker’s driver.
