Five people, including couple, three children, suffer burns

A two-year-old girl was burnt to death when a fire broke out in a house in Yusufabad, Punjab due to a gas leakage.

Five others, including a couple and their three children, suffered burns and have been shifted to Allied Hospital for medical treatment.

The fire, which was extinguished by the firefighters, destroyed household items reducing them to ashes.

Police reached the spot and took the body of the deceased girl in their possession. Police said gas had accumulated in the house of Muhammad Shaan, a resident of Jaranwala Road, Yousafabad, Madina Town due to gas leakage.

 Yousef's wife lit a fire for cooking and suddenly the gas cylinder exploded and a fire broke out. Shahaniya, 2, Zahida Bibi, 35, Ishtana, 10, Merab, 12, Dua, 5 and Imran Yusuf 28 suffered burn injuries in the fire.

 The crew of five vehicles of Rescue 1122 reached the spot and put out the fire and shifted the injured to the hospital after medical aid.

The minor girl succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. Madina Town police reached the spot and handed over the body to heirs after completing all necessary action while the condition of Zahida Bibi and her daughter is said to be critical.
