KARACHI:

Sindh government spokesperson and Adviser to the Chief Minister on Law, Environment and Coastal Development Murtaza Wahab has said that the Sindh government is using all resources at its disposal to promote healthy activities by holding sports tournaments across the province, especially in Karachi.

He made these remarks while inaugurating a badminton court at a cricket academy in Korangi.

Wahab said the growing trend of recreational activities in the city was a testament to the fact that the Sindh government, after ensuring the restoration of law and order, was now concentrating on providing relief to the people and creating opportunities to provide recreational activities for youth was one aspect of the initiative.

He said that naming a road in Korangi district after cricketer Fawad Alam was an expression of acknowledgement by Sindh government of the esteem in which they held sportsmen of the city who had brought laurels and glory to the country.

On the occasion, Fawad Alam said it was a matter of pride for him that a road in Korangi -the area where he lived-- had been named after him. He thanked the Sindh government and Wahab for the gesture.
