Mega uplift projects completed: Haider

AJK PM says schemes were planned as per public needs

Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider on Saturday said mega developmental projects for the socio economic well-being of people have been completed by his government.

Talking to a delegation of Union Council Siayan Daman here on Saturday, he said developmental projects were given according to the requirements of the people without any political indiscriminately. He added that steps were taken for development and facilitating people at their door steps.

Haider said: “My government has maintained strict financial discipline and in the first phase, the inter districts roads were upgraded while the links roads were completed under community infrastructure development programme to provide better communication facilities to the people.”

The AJK PM said that the incumbent government gave special emphasis to the provision of quality education, health and communication sectors and resolved the long awaited problems of the people. The delegation briefed the AJK premier about the problems of the union council and he assured them of resolving problems of the area.

The federal government has been making efforts to boost the progress of uplift schemes and start projects in AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan. In January, the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council the Covid-19 response and other natural calamities control programme.

The project includes National Health up-gradation programme, National programme for Water and Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Covid-19 interventions for less developed areas, it added. The PC-I of the project would facilitate the national programme to improve district and tehsil headquarters’ hospitals on a 50:50 basis financial support to all provinces.

Furthermore, it will improve public health surveillance separately for humans and animals and also assist in upgrading water sanitation and hygiene and local infrastructure. Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan will also be covered under the project financing. The AJK PM has maintained that his team has devised a “comprehensive strategy” to serve the masses.

“The AJK government has devised and implementing a comprehensive development strategy to serve the masses irrespective of any political affiliations,” Haider said while talking to a party delegation on March 4. He had also urged the party workers to maintain complete unity in their ranks.
