Pandemic claims 14 more lives in Sindh

The Covid-19 death toll in the province climbs to 4,315

Sindh reported 348 new Covid-19 cases and 14 coronavirus-related deaths on Wednesday, said Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued on the day.

The CM stated that following the detection of new cases and recent deaths, the Covid-19 death toll in Sindh had climbed to 4,315 and the infection tally 257,088.

According to him, 183 new cases were detected in Karachi, 25 in Matiari and as many in Shaheed Benazirabad, 22 in Hyderabad, 17 in Thatta, 15 in Tando Allahyar, 11 in Badin, seven in Larkana, six in Jamshoro and Sujawal each, four in Ghotki and as many Sanghar, three in Khairpur and Mirpurkhas each, two in Jacobabad and as many in Sukkur and one in Naushero Feroze.

Besides, he said, 619 more infected persons had regained health, lifting the total number of recoveries in the province to 240,676.

He added that 12,097 patients were under treatment on the day, with 11,680 in home isolation, seven in isolation centres and 410 in hospitals.

Of them, the CM said, 372, including 50 on ventilators, were critically ill.

The CM urged citizens to follow coronavirus-related standard operating procedures to curb the spread of the pandemic.
