As information technology has changed global dynamics, the right choice for Pakistan is to prepare a generation well-equipped with the knowledge of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and neural network, said President Dr Arif Alvi.
Speaking at the launch of Bachelors of Engineering Technology at the National University of Technology, the president said IT could offer immense opportunities for giving a boost to development in the country and helping tackle contemporary challenges.
Alvi emphasised the need for educational reforms to cater to requirements of the scientifically advanced international markets. He called for promoting innovative learning methods among students instead of brick-and-mortar setups to encourage faster dispensation of knowledge. The president said artificial intelligence that influenced nearly every facet of life could be used to augment human capabilities and improve efficiencies.
He highlighted that there were prospects of multi-dimensional employment opportunities for talented youth in the IT sector, which offered them a platform to explore new vistas of modern knowledge. For educators, he stressed the need for adopting the “knowledge funnel” for including the information mass into well-defined algorithms to create value and better efficiency.
“In the world of technological advancement, it is important for the innovators in Pakistan to leap in education, particularly IT,” said Alvi. He said that within next few years, a generation would be capable of bringing knowledge revolution.
