Another doctor has fallen victim to Covid-19 in the province bringing up the total number of doctors dying in the pandemic in the province to 45.
Lady Doctor Aneela Naseer was a Gynecologist by profession who had a private practice in Mansehra. She was on a ventilator for the past few days and breathed her last on Sunday. Dr Aneela was the spouse of Dr Naseer Ahmad who works as the Chairman Medicine Department in Ayub Teaching Hospital, Abbotabad.
She will be laid to rest in Township, Manshera Monday (today) afternoon.
It is worth mentioning here that 75 health workers have so far lost their lives in the pandemic in K-P including 45 doctors, six nurses, 12 paramedics and 12 class four employees, lab technicians, ambulance drivers and others.
Provincial Doctors Association (PDA) has once again demanded of the government to provide all the medics in the province with risk allowance as well as protective gear as doctors had been affected in the pandemic which is visible from the number of doctors dying of coronavirus.
Vaccination drive
On the other hand anti-Covid-19 vaccination drive has been going on smoothly in the province and so far 408 health workers have been vaccinated.
K-P Health Minister Tamur Saleem Jaghra has said that around 140 health workers in Swat had received the shots, 44 in Mardan and 27 in Nowshera had received vaccination.
Around 179 more workers were vaccinated on Saturday and the vaccination drive for the frontline health workers will continue with the same pace.
In Peshawar around 132 workers have been immunized.
The vaccination drive is being carried out in eight most affected districts of the province.
In the second phase people of 60 years or above will be vaccinated in the province.
