The National Counter Terrorism Authority issued on Wednesday an alert, citing security threats in Karachi.
According to the alert, terrorist elements have been planning to attack an official building in the city and a vehicle has been prepared to carry explosives for the purpose.
Following the issuance of the alert, the Sindh Rangers director general chaired a meeting to review the law and order situation in the metropolis.
The meeting reviewed in details the arrangements made for dealing with the potential security threat and formulated a joint strategy to employ technical resources for crime prevention.
The meeting was attended by the Karachi commissioner, Karachi AIG and others.
