The Virtual University (VU) and the Civil Services Academy (CSA) on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate and share the university’s educational as well as technological facilities.
The MoU states that both institutions would share facilities of VU campuses and online examination system to improve the effectiveness of the CSA training.
CSA Director General (DG) Dr Sajid Yoosufani and VU Rector Naeem Tariq signed the MoU on behalf of their institutions.
A three-member delegation comprising of the CSA DG, CSA Lahore Director Common Training Programme (CTP) Zulfiqar Younas and Additional Director (Research and Examination) Syed Shabir Akbar Zaidi visited the university.
Talking to the media, Dr Yoosufani said both government institutions would work together on training opportunities to build the capacity of trainee officers on evidence-based decision making.

“Both organisations would set legal and administrative modalities to award degrees such as Masters in Public Administration or Masters in Public Policy to the Common Training Programme and Specialised Training Programme probationers,” he added.
The VU rector said the organisations would work on the provision of high quality online training to civil servants in a cost-effective manner, effective utilisation of VU campuses and other allied facilities for the CSA trainees.
“The varsity also plans to share recorded lectures of the VU on mutually agreed topics, hold joint seminars, publish research work, exchange research publications via library and other activities to achieve objectives of the MoU,” he said.
