SC acknowledges CDA for sewage treatment
Supreme Court (SC) commended Capital Development Authority (CDA) for constructing sewage plants in the federal capital during the hearing of the Bani Gala illegal construction case on Wednesday.
The case was heard by a three-member bench headed by Justice Umar Ata Bandial. During the case hearing, Justice Bandial praised the CDA Chairman Amir Ahmad Ali for installing low-cost sewerage plants. He added that implementation of the projects has brought the system of sewerage in the city back on track.
He remarked that if projects are successful in Islamabad, they could be implemented in other parts of the country as well.
The apex court issued notices to all provinces regarding the implementation of sewerage plants. CDA should also resolve the problem of stench, said Justice Umar Ata Bandial remarked.
Addressing the issue of illegal constructions, Justice Bandial said that illegal construction is the second biggest issue for Islamabad.
Explaining their measures taken to solve the issues, CDA chairman said that earlier 300 building permits were issued but now, they have issued 2,000 building permits.
