The decapitated bodies of two youth were found in sacks in Chichawatni on Monday.
After the decapitated bodies were discovered, the family members of the victims blocked the Chichawatni bypass road and protested against police negligence.
As per details available with The Express Tribune, the heirs of the slain protested at Chichawatni bypass. The bypass was closed to traffic. The police after receiving information reached the spot and talked with the protesters and took them at the police station.
The parts of the bodies of two youths were found in sacks in Hujra Shah Muqeem. Both bodies were identified as residents of suburb village 5812L, Chichawatni.
The heirs of the slain blocked the Chichawatni bypass in protest against the police. Along with the heirs, there was also a large number of locals.
The heirs of the victims alleged that the accused had abducted and killed the victims in connivance with local police officers.
The protesting heirs claimed that they kept visiting the police station after the abduction of the victims but the police did not pay heed.
The victims could have been rescued if the police had acted in a timely manner, they argued.
The accused dismembered the bodies and dumped them in Hujra Shah Muqeem.
So far, the police were able to recover the heads of the victims. The protestors further stated that the police were not providing justice to the victims.
On the other hand, Okanwala Bangla SHO Rana Imtiaz reached the spot and after talking to the protesters, took them to the police station in a police van.
Chichawatni bypass was later opened for traffic.
This is not the only incident of sack packed bodies found in the province.
On December 10 last year, the body of a youth was found in a sack in Batala Colony area of Dijkot. He was allegedly killed by unknown people after being given intoxicated.
The body of 32-year-old Junaid Tahir, son of Zaman Malik and a resident of Model Town, Main Bazaar, was found wrapped in a sack near Qadriyah Chowk.
The victim was reportedly killed by hitting a sharp tool in the head after being given an intoxicated substance.
On November 29 last year, the body of a 10-year-old girl allegedly abducted and murdered in Chak No 711L, was found on the outskirts of Harappa.
The minor girl, a second grade school student, was reportedly abducted and brutally killed with a sharp-edged weapon on the outskirts of Harappa. The victim’s body was found in a sack outside her house.
The victim, daughter of Nobahar, a resident of Chak No 711L, a village near Harappa, went to a shop in the evening to buy something.
