QUETTA: Balochistan’s Finance Minister, Mir Asim Kurd Giloo will be presenting a tax-free fiscal budget in the Balochistan Assembly on Monday (today).

This year's budget will be development oriented and nearly Rs45 billion will be allocated to developmental projects. Education, health and water supply will be vital priorities.

Asim Kurd said Rs22 billion will be allocated to provision of education in the province.

Sources said the estimated budget volume is close to Rs120 billion rupees, much higher than before due to an increased provincial share in the NFC award and payments of gas development surcharge.

The finance minister said under the NFC, Balochistan will get around Rs83 billion while Rs10 to 13 billion will be received as direct transfers.

Addressing employment concerns he said 20,000 new jobs will be created under the new budget.
