The district administration and police have failed to implement the lockdown imposed in the selected areas to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Besides people, the authorities too seem to reacting half-heartedly to the second wave of the pandemic in the city.

Residents of a locality of Satellite Town told the Express Tribune that the areas was put under lockdown only on papers. The residents and shopkeepers of the Covid-19 hotspot are committing severe violations of coronavirus Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), but there is no one to stop them.

The order to impose smart lockdown in Kahuta, Satellite Town Blocks B, and C, and Abbasiabad was issued five days ago but the district administration has yet to enforce restrictions.
