MULTAN:

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar suspended Multan Nishtar Hospital Medical Superintendent (MS) Shahid Mahmood Bukhari and Multan Waste Management Company (MWMC) CEO Abdul Latif Khan over negligence on Saturday.

Taking immediate action over patients' complaints, and witnessing lack of cleanliness in the city, the CM suspended the MS and CEO during his surprise visit.

Buzdar moved to different areas of the city to witness the cleanliness situation.

He expressed dismay to the MWMC team over unhygienic streets and roads. The CM also learnt about a large number of complaints and grievances piled up at the city’s major hospital when he met with patients in person.

He called Commissioner Javed Akhtar Mahmood on the spot and directed him to prepare complete report over facilities being offered to the patients.

Speaking on the occasion, Buzdar claimed that he stood with the common people of the city. "I felt disappointed after seeing the terrible cleanliness situation in Multan," he remarked.

He warned public departments to set their direction and objectives straight. He asked officials concerned to move into field to review civic facilities keenly so as to make remarkable improvement.
