FAISALABAD:

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) awarded life imprisonment to two accused in a kidnap-for-ransom case.

The court also ordered the confiscation of the property of convicts Mahmood and Idrees. Additionally, Irfan and Ghulam – the other two suspects, were declared proclaimed offenders (POs) by the ATC, who would be prosecuted after their arrest.

ATC Judge Shahzad Hussain announced the verdict after hearing the arguments of the parties and examining evidence.

According to the prosecution, the accused had kidnapped Shahzad Anawar from Civil Lines Police Station limits on October 31, 2019 and had released him after receiving Rs2 million ransom from his family.
