HYDERABAD:

An inquiry committee, probing graft allegations against the Hyderabad Development Authority’s (HDA) suspended planning and development control director, seized official records on Monday. The committee, chaired by additional secretary Jamaluddin Jalalani and comprising Sindh master plan director Abdul Waqar and Karachi Development Authority’s Abdul Qadeer Mangi, had been assigned the task by Sindh Local Government Minister Nasir Hussain Shah. The local government secretary had suspended HDA director Bashir Awan, who was responsible for approving the housing schemes and commercial buildings, when allegations of financial irregularities against him surfaced.
