QUETTA:

Balochistan Inspector General (IG) of Police Mohsin Hassan Butt has decided to digitise the outdated and traditional system of the police force in order to bring it in line with modern policing methods.

In this regard, the computerised Data Command and Communication Center (DCCC) will begin work on November 9 to digitise policing in the IG’s office.

IG Butt has also devised a system of effective monitoring of police officers’ performances and police stations through digital data collection in order to provide the best service to people.

All the districts and ranges of Balochistan have been connected to the command center through a video link.

The use of technology will not only increase the efficiency of the police but will also directly benefit the general public.

Crime reporting, registration of First Information Report, mobile service center and human resource management records will be collected in the DCCC. It will be set up in the IG’s office and has its own server capable of storing records for many years. Footage from Safe City cameras could also be monitored directly.

Analytical digital reports on crimes, including progress on public complaints, video forensics and crime management records, will also be available soon.

The DCCC will be a game changer for implementing the motto of security and service of Balochistan Police.
