Solar panels stolen from GT Road

Five fountain machines from Shahi Bagh were also dismantled

Solar panels installed to power street lights on the Grand Trunk Road (GT Road) in the provincial capital have been stolen while five fountain machines from Shahi Bagh were also dismantled and stolen by unidentified suspects. Some five fountain machines were installed in the Shahi Bagh with help of the USAID have been stolen by unidentified suspects after which the fountains have stopped working. Further, the solar-powered street lights from Jinnah Park to Family Park on GT Road have stopped illuminating as well as the panels of most of them have been missing. Half of the GT Road plunges into the dark after sunset and the administration has gone silent on the poor state of security. Earlier, the solar panels installed on street lights near the Government Higher Secondary School Number-I on GT Road were also stolen.
