Enemies of education trying to shut schools

Government should find and financially assist the owners of private institutions

RAWALPINDI:

The All Pakistan Private Schools and Colleges Association (APPSCA) claimed on Saturday that the enemies of education are trying to close the educational institutions once again.

APPSCA President Malik Abrar Hussain said in a statement that the move could prove to be destructive for education.

The official claimed that all private educational institutions were implementing SOPS while discussions of closing down schools again reflected enmity with education and was sheer foolishness.

Hussain said that the private institutions cooperated with the government when the schools were shut down during the coronavirus peak. As a result, he added, hundreds of schools had to wind up the business and thousands of their employees lost jobs.

However, the APPSCA president said that they still compromised for the sake of children's health and endured the destruction of the private sector. The official expressed that the government should find and financially assist the owners of the private institutions that were shut permanently due to the lockdown.

He also demanded that steps should be taken to arrange jobs for people who had become jobless due to the closure of schools and colleges.
