Haripur DPO to lead Tahir Iqbal murder probe

Hazara DIG Qazi Jamilur Rehman assured that the culprits will be brought to book

HARIPUR:

The Haripur district police officer and his team of investigators have been tasked with probing the targeted murder of PTI leader Tahir Iqbal.

Iqbal, an American businessman of Pakistani origin and the regional deputy secretary-general of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), had been gunned down by unidentified armed assailants near the Ghazi area of Haripur on Sunday.

Visiting the site of the attack on Monday, Hazara Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Qazi Jamilur Rehman assured that the culprits will be brought to book.

Terming the Iqbal's assassination as a tragic incident which deserves to be condemned, the DIG directed the Haripur DPO to probe the case.

He further directed them to probe the case from all possible angles and to apprehend the culprits soon.
