Pillion riding banned across Sindh

Elderly citizens, women, children and journalists exempted from the restriction

Pillion-riding has been banned across the province from Friday night until Sunday night for Ashura, announced a notification issued by the Sindh Home Department on Saturday.

However, police, Rangers, law enforcement personnel, elderly citizens, women, children and journalists will be exempted from the restriction.

The notification added that carrying weapons, making provocative speeches, wall chalking, aerial firing and the gathering of more than five people except in majalis and processions would not be allowed either. It further stated that processions and majalis would also not be permitted without the approval of the relevant authorities.
