Afaq blasts Karachi Board

Criticises alleged mismanagement in matric exams, accuses authorities of facilitating corruption in centre allocation

Chairman of Muhajir Qaumi Movement, Afaq Ahmed, has criticised alleged large-scale mismanagement in Karachi's matriculation examinations, accusing authorities of facilitating corruption and discrimination in the allocation of exam centres.

Ahmed termed the reported "sale" of examination centres for hefty sums a "shameful act," alleging that the Sindh Government was complicit in the situation.

He condemned the practice of assigning students from government schools to distant centres in other districts and rural areas, while students from private institutions were allegedly given nearby examination centres. According to him, this disparity reflects a deep-rooted nexus between private school operators and the matriculation board.

Ahmed claimed that private school owners secure favorable centres by paying large sums, and then recover double the amount by charging students thousands of rupees per paper, allegedly facilitating cheating through organised means.

He further alleged that recent administrative appointments at the Board of Secondary Education Karachi were politically motivated.
