Woman shot, injured for honour

LAHORE:

A woman was reportedly injured by her brother through gunfire early Friday in Chung area. Initial police investigations suggest the motive behind the attack was ‘honour’. The victim identified as Arzoo had contracted a court marriage with Zaman a couple of months ago. The victim’s family was not happy about the wedlock. Reportedly, on the day of incident, the victim’s brother Abid shot and injured her. The victim was later admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Her husband has registered a complaint before police. Police are searching for the accused in the case.
