A local court ordered on Thursday an inquiry against the investigation officer (IO) and Saddar Special Investigations Unit (SIU) in-charge Tariq Shah Zaman for poor investigation and failure to arrest the accused in a robbery case.

The police presented the case report before West judicial magistrate at the Karachi City Court, stating that the accused's whereabouts were unknown. In response, the magistrate remarked, "The negligence of the IO serves as proof that action should be taken against him. Only two suspects have been arrested so far, while four remain outside the grasp of the law."

The court subsequently rejected the report and ordered Karachi AIG Ghulam Nabi Memon to carry out an inquiry against the IO and Zaman, headed by an officer of SSP or ASP rank.
