Infectious diseases hospitals to be set up across Sindh

Recruitment of 2,200 doctors and 1,400 nurses expected

Infectious diseases hospitals with 200 beds are being set up in Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpur Khas and Shaheed Benazirabad at a cost of Rs10 billion, claimed Sindh Health Minister Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho during a meeting on Monday.

The meeting, jointly chaired by Pechuho and Sindh Chief Secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah, reviewed the health department's development schemes. To this end, Shah directed all deputy commissioners to write to the Sindh Land Utilisation Department for the allotment of land for these hospitals. He further directed Sindh health secretary Dr Kazim Jatoi to contact the Sindh Public Service Commission for the recruitment of 2,200 doctors and 1,400 nurses.
