Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has announced that it is mandatory for government officials to forward files related to universities within 10 days at most. The 10-day limit has also been imposed on the Chief Secretary's Office.

Sarwar said he would take stern notice of delay in files of government departments and make important decisions in this regard.

The restriction will be applied to all departments, including law, health, industry and agriculture.

“If the officers concerned will keep a file it for a longer period, strict disciplinary action will be taken against them,” the governor, who is chancellor of the universtities in the province, remarked.

He maintained that it will also be necessary for the office of the chief secretary to send the file to the department concerned within the stipulated time.
