SUKKUR:

A bid to smuggle wheat from Sindh to Punjab was foiled by the police and over 8,000 bags of wheat were recovered at Sindh-Punjab border on Thursday. Talking to the media, Shikarpur district food controller Muhammed Ashraf Kerio stated they had been tipped off about 14 trucks loaded with smuggled wheat. He said the recovered wheat was being kept at a Sindh Food Authority warehouse, adding that pickets had been set up to counter smuggling across the province.
