Child drowns at Sandspit beach

A teenager drowned in the sea at Sandspit beach on Monday. While Edhi rescue workers launched a search for the body of 14-year-old Usama, they were unable to retrieve it till the filing of this report. The rescue workers said that Usama’s family, which was visiting the beach for a picnic, resided in Millat Town, Malir. According to sources, the Mauripur police allegedly permits citizens to visit public beaches despite the restriction imposed by the government amid the coronavirus pandemic.
