Alleged murderer of nine people arrested

Accused reportedly called victim to factory in Khurarianwala through his fiancé and killed him on spot

SHEIKHUPURA: Sheikhupura police conducted an operation and claimed to have arrested a suspected murderer, of Ghulam Rasool group, involved in a case of blind murder and indiscriminate killing of nine people in Khurarianwala area near Bhakhi police station last month.

Police also seized weapons from the possession of the accused. According to the details, last month, in Khurarianwala Town of Bhakki police station, there was animosity between Ghulam Rasool group and Khadim Hussain group due to multiple disputes. Due to this, Ghulam Rasool group, armed with weapons, fired at different places according to the set target and killed nine members of Khadim Hussain group.

Among those killed were the husband, wife, son, and son-in-law of the leader of Khadim Hussain group, and his son-in-law and the brother of the son-in-law named Yaseen. Other victims included Waheed, Akbar, Tanveer and Allah Dutta working in their fields.

As soon as the incident was reported, Sheikhupura DPO Ghazi Muhammad Salahuddin, accompanied by SP Investigation, rushed to the spot and cordoned off the whole area. He took control of the situation with a heavy contingent of police and immediately formed teams and sent them to chase the accused.

The bodies of the victims were taken into their custody and their autopsy had been conducted. All material evidence from the crime scene was preserved by the Crime Scene Team and a specially appointed team from the Punjab Forensic Science Laboratory. The heirs of the slain were assured that the accused will be strictly punished as per law.

The DPO under the supervision of SP Investigative Muhammad Akmal, Saddar Circle DSP Rana Ghulam Abbas, SHO Bhakhi Umar Shiraz Ghaman, SHO Sadar Faisal Abbas Chadhar, SHO A Division Rana Muhammad Iqbal, in-charge CIA Inspector Saleem Akhtar Niazi and IT in-charge Zahid Zaman Khan formed teams and gave them the task of arresting the accused.

Taking this task, the teams conducted raids in this district and other districts and arrested five key suspects. Police interrogated the suspects and seized Kalashnikovs from them and sent them behind bars.

The arrested accused including Anwar Sajjad alias Sabo son of Ghulam Rasool, Maqbool alias Khurmi, son of Ghulam Rasool, , Younis alias Yuni, son of Ghulam Rasool, , Shahbaz alias Baga, son of Ghulam Rasool and Abdul Qayyum, son of Mureed Hussain.

The accused Abdul Qayyum further revealed during interrogation that he had an illicit relationship with Sana, daughter of Younus, a resident of Khatriwala, Sheikhupura district whose marriage was fixed with Abdul Jabbar, son of Mohammad Yousuf, a resident of Noshera Warkan.

He called the victim Abdul Jabbar to a factory in Khurarianwala through a call allegedly made by Sana and killed Abdul Jabbar. He later buried his body by digging a pit.

Abdul Jabbar’s body was recovered on the identification of the accused and a case of murder was registered by summoning his heirs.

Thus, with the help of modern technology, these teams not only traced and arrested the main culprits of nine murders but also fulfilled their duty by tracing a blind murder.

The DPO remarked that the efforts of the SP, DSP and the task teams, formed to arrest the accused, were commendable.
