ISLAMABAD:
The Supreme Court has asked the Federal Government to submit a reply within 15 days to a petition challenging Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) Chairman Tauqeer Sadiq’s appointment on Thursday. The petitioner had claimed that Sadiq has a fake degree in Masters of Law (LLM). He also claims that Sadiq has allegedly indulged in corruption as the chairman of Ogra. The Cabinet Division submitted a report that stated that had it been in the knowledge of the government that Sadiq possesses a fake degree, he would not have been appointed as a chairman of Ogra. The report also stated that the Federal Public Service Commission had already sent a report on Sadiq’s mindonduct of granting new connections and transfers to CNG stations, a violation of policy.
