“Police had arrested two accused namely Zulfiqar Ali and Jawad involved in Hazara Town attacks with the help of CCTV cameras installed near the crime scene and today we have obtained a four-day physical remand from the court in order to expand the scope of the investigation,” AIG Cheema said while addressing a news conference in Quetta.
Cheema added that more arrests will be made as soon as investigation teams begin identifying culprits involved in killing Bilal Khan Noorzai and two others during a scuffle on Friday.
However, the AIG confirmed that a First Information Report will be filed against people who attacked a Hazara traffic constable outside Civil Hospital.
“As an initial step, we have suspended the Station House Officer (SHO) Brewery Road over negligence in handling the brawl but he would be given change to justify his position,” Cheema further said, claiming that the police have recovered a non-customs paid vehicle from the house of the prime accused Jawad.
“Police also seized the bloody knife, seizer and stone used in the lynching of Bilal Khan and two others whilst more arrests will be made in the coming days,” the AIG concluded.
