Covid-19 situation not disastrous due to govt's effective measures: Dr Zafar
Mirza says increase in number of patients being reported due to increased testing capacity
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Health Services Dr Zafar Mirza on Friday said that the novel coronavirus situation in Pakistan is "not disastrous" due to the effective measures taken by the government.
The increasing number of patients being reported is because of the increased testing capacity, Dr Zafar said in an interview with Pakistan Television (PTV).
He added that the federal government and provincial governments are working in tandem regarding all the decisions to contain Covid-19.
Mirza further added that the opposition parties, instead of doing politics on the deadly virus, should suggest measures to prevent its spread.
The special assistant again urged the people to follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintain social distancing, avoid shaking hands, wear masks and gloves to keep themselves safe during the pandemic.
