QCCI urges provincial govt to eradicate locusts

QUETTA:
Senior Vice President of Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Badruddin Kakar and other officials demanded Balochistan the government and officials of the Agriculture Department to eradicate the swarms of locusts through spray to avoid further loss to agriculture, livestock and service based industries across the province.

In a statement, he drew the attention of government and agriculture department officials to the locust swarms in province. “The global epidemic of coronavirus is already threatening the unemployment rate in the province and now locusts have become an emerging threat too.”

At present, locusts have started destroying ready crops in different districts of the province including Pishin, Kila Saifullah and Kila Abdullah," he said.

Kakar added that, “In order to prevent this disaster, the Agriculture and Food Department had to take steps from day one. Unfortunately, they proved to be incompetent.”
