MULTAN:
Trains were operational during all three days of Eid though many of these suffered hours of delay due to partial restoration of services.

Passengers complained of difficulties in booking tickets as the online reservation link also went down.

Per details, the train operation continued during the holidays in Multan as well as the rest of the country.

Partial train operation had resumed since last Wednesday. A total of 30 up and downside trains were run all over the country, of which 24 trains drove through the Multan Cantt Station.

The scorching heat did not make it any easier for passengers to wait for their trains to arrive at the station.

On Eid’s second day, when the reservation office was reopened at 2pm, the tickets could not be issued to travellers as the registration link went offline irking people aiming to spend Eid with their loved ones.

On the first two days of Eid, the station and trains were not crowded. On day three, a large number of passengers arrived at the station to travel forth.

A spokesperson of the Pakistan Railway said all the passengers were allowed to board the trains once they were found abiding to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) outlined by the government.

“The station is disinfected daily. Fans and cold water coolers have been provided inside the premises for the ease of passengers,” he added.
