‘Opportunists’: Elahi lashes out at PML-N leadership

Says party who attacked SC has no right to criticise the govt.

LAHORE:

Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) senior leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi lashed out at Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) leadership and said that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif should have revisited his own action against the Supreme Court in 1997, before criticising the federal government for its back-and-forth with the judiciary.

Elahi, speaking to the media at the launch of a Lahore Press Club Utility Stores outlet said that the chief minister was the mastermind behind the attack on the Supreme Court.

Elahi accused the PML-N of ransacking the apex court in 1997 and said that the party was now trying to create misunderstandings between institutions by taking sides.

The PML-Q leader said that the PML-N thrived on conflicts between institutions and had been at loggerheads with the army and the judiciary at different times.

Elahi said that on November 28, 1997, party members of the PML-N who participated in the Supreme Court attack were informed on a loudspeaker that a sumptuous “Siri Paya” lunch awaited them at the end of their “heroic adventure”.

Elahi, while criticising PML-N, said that “jumping and singing on stage will neither solve public problems nor make anyone a leader”.

He condemned the “elements” bent upon creating conflicts between the country’s key institutions.

All leaders exposed...Better look for new leadership. We dont need more of PML-N Q or PPP. Also dump ANP and MQM. Lets start with fresh leadership with clean background.

That politics for power should not always be the agenda they should think about the common man instead and do something about. Institutions like pia and railways that are losing a karor every minute
