Bhushan Kumar's 2018 hit Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety will be getting a sequel, confirmed the producer to the Mumbai Mirror.
According to Bhushan, the team will start working on the sequel to the Kartik Aaryan, Nushrat Bharucha and Sunny Singh starrer shortly. "We are definitely doing Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety 2, it’s a great franchise to take forward," he said.
Based on an unbreakable bond between two friends, played by Kartik and Sunny, and a girl (Nushrat) that comes between them, the 2018 comedy came as a welcome hit for all three leads.
Infact, Kartik claims that the film was career defining for him. "It was a film that actually changed my life. My character of Sonu was an author-backed role and I feel we all need a friend like Sonu in our lives which is why this role is really special to me," he said.
"After the film’s (Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety) success, I started getting attention from the right kind of people. They started noticing me the way I wanted them to notice me. I started getting response from the people who I wanted to work with," gushed Kartik in an interview.
The film is also set to be remade in Telugu. Filmmaker D Suresh Babu from the South of India acquired the rights.
