Watch: Karan Johar replaces Rishi Kapoor in 'Mein Shayar Tu Nahi'

The video is as convincing as the original

It appears that Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar is using quarantine to fulfill his fantasies. The K3G recently posted a video on Instagram wherein he appears as Rishi Kapoor's character in the evergreen hit , Mein Shayar To Nahin from the film Bobby.

The video essentially has Johar's face mapped on Kapoor's in the original clip. With Johar's features sharing some resemblance with those of Kapoor's, the video looks as convincing as the original.

In the caption, Johar marveled at the technology of face mapping while also calling the relate Raj Kapoor as his favourite director. “The Magic of Face mapping... Raj Kapoor was one of my all-time favourite filmmakers! and Rishi Kapoor is my all time favourite actor! This is a present to me by Sandeep. I’d like to thank him for this gift, one that I will always treasure! I also want to tell all of you to please go ahead and laugh! You are totally allowed to!” the caption read.

Peers and fans alike had a good laugh over Johar's latest masterpiece. Kapoor's daughter Riddhima was the first to react with clapping hands and laughing emojis. Meanwhile, renowned music composer Vishal Daldani described it as legendary.

“This is legendary, Karan Johar! Has Rishi-ji commented? That’s the only one that matters!” Daldani said.

Likewise, Pretty Zinta, Kajol and Abishek Bachan all expressed their amusement through laughing emojis. While Tahira Kashyap talked about how Johar should've heeded his father's advice.

“See your father always knew about your talent and looks! You should have listened to him,” she said.
