A Pakistan Army soldier embraced martyrdom during a shootout with terrorists in North Waziristan, said a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday.

“Security forces spotted move of terrorists in North Wazirstan,” the military’s media wing said, adding, “As soon the Quick Reaction Force cordoned the area, terrorists opened fire.”

Lance Naik Irshad Khan, 26, married, resident of Jamrud, Khyber embraced martyrdom, the ISPR said.

A day earlier, security forces killed two terrorists during an exchange of fire in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s North Waziristan district, according to ISPR.

During the exchange of fire with the terrorists at their hideout in Dargai, some 8 kilometres north west of Dattakhel, a soldier also embraced martyrdom, the military’s media wing added.

On Friday, security forces had killed seven terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa district.

During the exchange of fire with terrorist at their hideout in Zakir Khel area, two soldiers also embraced martyrdom, the ISPR added.
